WANTED: LEAD GUITAR PLAYER
Established Milwaukee-based band The Saltshakers are looking for a lead guitar player. We are a pop rock band that enjoys melodies, distorted guitars, and sing-along choruses. We also enjoy the lost art of the guitar solo. You can listen to mp3's at www.thesaltshakers.com
Other things we're looking for:
- Must be able write lead guitar lines and solos. Ability to switch back and forth between rhythm and lead guitar is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to sing back-up vocals, ability to harmonize a big plus.
- Must have own equipment and reliable transportation.
- Must be available to practice approximately once per week, mostly weekends.
- Must be available to play shows on weekends - mostly Saturdays. No touring, just the occasional long weekend. We will play approximately 10 shows per year.
- Age is probably the least important thing on this list, but if you're much older or younger than the rest of us, it'll be weird, okay? 25-35 would probably be ideal. Jon and Jamie are 28 and 32. I just turned 31, but I got carded at the casino last weekend.
We're looking for a positive and easy-going personality that just wants to have fun playing in a band. No racists, homophobes, etc etc etc.
Some bands that we enjoy are The Cars, The Replacements, Tom Petty, Oasis, Ryan Adams, The Beatles, Phoenix, The Pixies, Nada Surf, New Order, INXS, Superdrag and Sloan.
